Michele’s Tips for a Perfectly Planned Trip
1.
Dream with your favorite people. Pull up around the table, share a meal and brainstorm together what the perfect adventure would look like. List 1-3 places where no one in the group has ever been, but everyone in the group is thrilled to consider.
2.
Chat about budget. It’s no fun to talk about, but we all have some kind of budget limitations. Being realistic about what the group can spend will save the disappointment of finding a dream location you can’t afford.
3.
Engage a travel advisor. Actually, reach out to us (smile). Something most people don’t realize is that a travel advisor almost never costs you more, but instead finds you hidden deals, super fun perks, and brings limitless ideas to your dream. We’ll be honest with you if we aren’t the right fit.
4.
Make a vision board. Either real or digital, save ideas for your trip and all the fun things that come with it. What will you wear? Do you need new walking shoes (hint: you probably do)? Visualizing your journey makes the anticipation as fun as the main event.
5.
Understand your quirks. Most people have at least one element of travel that brings them stress. Packing, planning, flying, navigating, translating or currency exchanging are just a few of the pain points for travelers. Despite traveling to more than 25 countries, I’m afraid of flying, and I’ve worked very hard to develop a routine for this seemingly unstoppable fear.
